Crime in SA | Alleged serial rapist opposed to televised trial

JOHANNESBURG – Alleged serial rapist Sipho Lucas Phiri is once again attempting to dodge the cameras.
His lawyer will be appealing a High Court judgment granting eNCA permission to broadcast his trial.
Phiri claims televising the trial will endanger his family.
He’s accused of inflicting a reign of terror between 2018 and 2023, raping at least 37 women, some of them, just teenagers.
Arguments will be heard on Thursday.
